First Indian GM on KBC hot seat
Kaun Banega Crorepati is an Indian adaptation of the globally followed popular quiz show Who wants to be a Millionaire. Various countries have had different iterations of it in different languages. The first question that can come to anyone's mind is, has there been other chess Grandmasters to appear on this show? A quick google reveals that British Grandmaster James Plaskett appeared on the show (WWTBAM) in 2006, it was reported by ChessBase. The 13th World Champion - GM Garry Kasparov appeared with his wife Daria Tarasova on the Georgian adaptation of it. There might have been more Grandmasters who appeared on different versions/seasons of the show.

Mitrabha showed that he is not only a strong player but he also has a wide range of general knowledge, can be quick in answering questions just like playing over the board or online. The ability to be unfazed against any opposition in the world even if he is a former World Rapid champion like Daniil Dubov, he showed his determination and did not get carried away by sitting in front of Amitabh Bachchan. We hope he continues to achieve many more milestones and his dreams. We also hope to see more Grandmasters and strong chess players in this widely followed show Kaun Banega Crorepati.
