Priyanshu Patil triumphs at Federal Bank 4th Tarabai Shinde Rapid Rating Open 2025

FM Priyanshu Patil, FM Anirudhha Potawad and Arnav Mahesh Koli scored an unbeaten 8.5/9 each at Federal Bank presents 4th Tarabai Shinde Rapid Rating Open 2025. Priyanshu won the tournament on tie-breaks, Anirudhha and Arnav were placed second and third respectively. Priyanshu drew with the eventual runner-up, Anirudhha in the final round. The total prize fund was ₹250000. The top three prizes were ₹20000, ₹15000 and ₹10000 along with a trophy each. The one-day nine-round Swiss league Rapid Rating tournament was organized by Nandakumar T Vijayamma at Agri Koli Sanskriti Bhavan in Navi Mumbai, Maharashtra on 30th March 2025. Top three score 8.5/9

Both FM Anirudhha Potawad and FM Priyanshu Patil made a blazing start by winning eight games in-a-row. In the final round, they inevitably clashed against each other which ended in a draw. Priyanshu became champion, Anirudhha second. Third seeded, 14-year-old Arnav Mahesh Koli defeated Pushkar Dere to finish third.

A total of 613 players took part from all over the country, one from Uganda and Zambia in this one-day nine round Rapid Rating Open tournament. It was organized by Nandakumar T Vijayamma at Agri Koli Sanskriti Bhavan in Navi Mumbai, Maharashtra on 30th March 2025. The time control of the event was 15 minutes + 5 seconds increment per move.
