Prudhvi Kumar V wins Prestige Open B Below 2000 Rating Tournament 2023
23-year-old Prudhvi Kumar V and Jovan Mijajlovic (SRB) scored an unbeaten 7.5/9 each. Prudhvi won the Prestige 2023 Open B Below 2000 Rating tournament due to better tie-breaks. It was part of Winter Chess Festival "Paracin 2023". Their fourth round encounter ended in a draw and they both finished a full point ahead of the competition. FM Dinu-Simi Suciu (ROU) scored sole 6.5/9 to finish third. The total prize fund of the tournament was 180000 RSD (approx. ₹135914). Prudhvi wins his first Rating tournament
Prudhvi Kumar V has won few district level tournaments. This was his first Rating Open tournament triumph, the rating restriction was Below 2000.



A total of 50 players took part in the Open B category from eight countries across the world - Bulgaria, India, Italy, North Macedonia, Romania, Serbia, Turkey and USA. The seven-day nine-round Swiss league Rating tournament was organized by OŠK "Paraćin" at Pool Prestige in Paracin, Serbia from 17th to 23rd January 2023. The time control of the tournament was 90 minutes + 30 seconds increment from move no.1.
