IM Kushagra Mohan and FM Md. Imran scored an unbeaten 9/10 each at Masthanaiah Chess World Rapid Rating Open 2023. Kushagra won the tournament due to better tie-breaks, Imran was placed second. FM Harsh Suresh, IM D V Prasad, IM Ramnathan Balasubramaniam, Nihal Swarna, Mani Bharathy and Hari Charan Sai Kalluri scored 8.5/10 each. They were placed third to eighth respectively. The total prize fund of the tournament was ₹200000. The top three prizes were ₹50000, ₹20000 and ₹10000 along with a trophy each respectively. A total of 520 players including 4 IMs took part from various states across the country, one from Bangladesh, two from New Zealand and Sri Lanka each in this two-day ten-round Swiss League Rapid Rating Open tournament. The event was organized by Masthanaiah Chess World at The Nellore Arya Vysya Bullion Merchants in Nellore, Andhra Pradesh on 8th and 9th July 2023. The time control of the event was 25 minutes + 5 seconds increment from move no.1.
